Every aspect of the Saint Lawrence River is dramatic, it seems.  This is a winter afternoon, looking southwest from the top of Cap Diamont in Quebec.  I didn't know the steam across the river came from an oil refinery until I drove past it the day after I took a reference photo.   The mouth of the Etchemin River is just below the refinery, on the right of the painting.
